Objectives of Anila Bhagya Scheme

The primary goal of the Mukhyamantri Anila Bhagya Scheme is to extend fuel-related benefits to the state’s Below Poverty Line (BPL) cardholders. The scheme entails collaborative efforts with state gas companies to enhance infrastructure in remote areas, ensuring that eligible households across the state have access to cylinders and gas facilities. Anila Bhagya Scheme Benefits

  • The Government of Karnataka has introduced the Mukhyamantri Anila Bhagya Scheme with the aim of offering fuel-related advantages to Below Poverty Line (BPL) cardholders in the state. This initiative ensures that eligible BPL families receive a complimentary LPG gas connection, a double gas hob cooker, and two refills from the state government.
  • The scheme not only promotes an economical and eco-friendly method of cooking for eligible citizens but also contributes to waste reduction. The state government plans to extend the benefits of the Karnataka Anila Bhagya Scheme to approximately 5 lakh families in the state, based on a conservative estimate.
  • Under this scheme, the state government offers a subsidy of Rs 1,920 per family, which is higher compared to the Rs 1,600 provided under the Ujjwala scheme. The adoption of LPG as a smokeless cooking method not only enhances health benefits but also improves the overall quality of life for citizens benefiting from this program.

Implementation of ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅನಿಲ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ಯೋಜನೆ

  • Beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Anila Bhagya Program are identified through a district-level selection and monitoring committee, overseen by the district’s minister in charge. For residents without ration cards in non-Gas families, the committee obtains a list of such citizens. The Member Secretary of the District determines the number of Phase-I beneficiaries in FPS based on MMABAY rules and the target list provided by the MLA member secretary.
  • If MLAs are unable to finalize the Phase-I list within a week, the District Selection Committee recommends it to the authority for approval. Citizens with existing gas connections through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana are not eligible for this scheme.
  • Female family members, aged at least 18, with PHH/AAY ration cards can apply for MMABY at Gram Panchayat offices, Jan Snehi Kendras, or Bangalore 1 centers. Applicants must present their Aadhaar number at service kiosks during Phase-I and confirm their home’s gas connection.
  • Applicants can choose the agency during Karnataka Anila Bhagya Scheme application. After verification, eligible Phase-I beneficiaries receive an endorsement confirming their MMABY eligibility. A special Consumer ID is generated upon FI verification, and beneficiaries receive an SMS notification.
  • Food Inspector provides a photocopy of the check, beneficiary list, completed application form, MMABY acknowledgment, and release order to the LPG distributor. Beneficiaries receive an SV after distributor OMC approval, and their details are entered into the FCS software web portal.
